EV charging cables are manufactured to IEC 62893 and must withstand repeated coiling, outdoor temperature extremes, UV exposure, and both AC and DC charging currents. They are fundamentally different from building wiring cables.

What cable is used for EV charging stations in India?
EV charging stations require IEC 62893 rated high-flex cables. AC charging (Type 2) typically uses 3-phase cable with pilot and PE conductors. DC fast charging (CCS/CHAdeMO) requires specialist DC-rated cable. Standard IS 694:2010 wiring cable is not suitable.
