What is Lift cable?
Lift travelling cables are flat multicore flexible cables that run between the elevator car and the controller. The flat-ribbon construction allows the cable to flex repeatedly through millions of car-travel cycles without conductor fatigue. They are manufactured to IS 9968 with Class 5 fine-stranded copper, PVC-insulated cores, and PVC outer jacket. Common configurations are 8-core 0.5 sqmm (for low-rise lifts) and 12-core 0.5 / 0.75 sqmm (for mid-rise lifts with intercom and additional control circuits). Material is supplied on 500-metre drums on demand.
