What is LAN cable?
Cat6 LAN cable is 4-pair unshielded twisted pair (UTP) cable rated for Gigabit Ethernet up to 100 metres. Standard Cat6 uses 23 AWG solid copper conductors; the 24 AWG variant is used for shorter patch runs. Most Indian installations use the 305-metre box packing. Solid annealed bare copper conductors are required for true Cat6 — copper-clad aluminium (CCA) cable is sold as "Cat6" but does not meet the spec.
