Aluminium service wires use solid aluminium conductor (instead of copper), PVC insulation to IS 694:2010, 1100V grade. Used for the service drop from overhead line to building meter, and for sub-mains where weight or cost is a constraint over copper. Available in single-core (1.5-95 sqmm) for sub-main wiring and 2/3/4-core flat or round formats (2.5-16 sqmm) for service connections per DISCOM specifications.
